Taffeta rolls and taffeta printing for the garment industry

Taffeta is the material the garment industry runs on and almost nobody in India converts. Most suppliers import finished rolls and resell them, which is why lead times are long, widths are whatever the container happened to contain, and quality drifts between shipments.

We convert taffeta ourselves, in New Delhi. Slitting, hemming, coating and finishing happen on our own line — we are the only company in India doing this in-house rather than importing. That is not a marketing distinction, it is the reason we can cut the width you actually print on, hold export-quality stock, and turn a repeat order round in days.

Taffeta rolls and taffeta printing — converted in New Delhi

We are the only company in India converting taffeta in-house rather than importing finished rolls. Slitting, hemming, coating and finishing all happen on our own line in New Delhi, which is why we can hold export-quality taffeta in stock, cut to the width you actually print on, and turn a repeat order round in days rather than weeks.

Export-quality taffeta for the garment industry

Soft-feel woven taffeta for care labels, content labels, size tabs and brand labels — the grade garment exporters are held to by their overseas buyers. Consistent whiteness, clean cut edges that do not fray in the wash, and a surface that takes a washcare ribbon without patching or flaking.

Taffeta printing to your artwork

Send the artwork and we print it: care symbols, fibre composition, country of origin, brand marks, barcodes and size runs, in single or multiple colours. Printed taffeta is supplied on rolls, fan-folded or cut and folded ready for the sewing line.

Every width, and blank rolls too

Blank taffeta on rolls for exporters who print in-house on their own thermal transfer printers, slit to any width from narrow size tabs upward, in the roll lengths and core sizes your printer takes. Pair it with Mynds 50 Washcare ribbon and the print survives industrial laundering.

Who buys it

Garment exporters and buying houses, apparel manufacturers, label printers and converters, laundries, dry cleaners and hospitality linen services — anyone who needs a label to stay legible after the garment has been washed a hundred times.

Ask for a sample cut before you order. Taffeta is judged by hand-feel and by how it survives a wash test, and neither of those travels well in a photograph.

Export-quality taffeta, and what that actually means

“Export quality” gets used loosely. For a woven care label it means four specific things, and a buying house will check all four:

  • Consistent whiteness across the roll and between rolls. A shade drift halfway through a production run means the labels in one carton do not match the labels in the next, and that is a rejection.
  • Cut edges that do not fray. The edge has to survive the wash, not just the sewing line. A frayed care label looks like a counterfeit garment.
  • A surface that takes the print. The coating has to accept a washcare ribbon evenly, with no patching or flaking, or the wash instructions become unreadable exactly when a consumer needs them.
  • Hand-feel soft enough to sit against skin. A scratchy care label generates returns on an otherwise perfect garment.

We supply to that standard because our customers are exporting to buyers who enforce it.

Blank taffeta rolls

If you print in-house on your own thermal transfer printers, we supply blank taffeta on rolls, slit to any width from narrow size tabs upward, in the roll lengths and core sizes your printer takes. Pair it with Mynds 50 Washcare ribbon and both halves of the label — material and print — come from the same supplier. When something goes wrong with a care label it is almost always an argument between the material supplier and the ribbon supplier about whose fault it is. Buying both from one company ends that argument.

Taffeta printing to your artwork

Send the artwork and we print it. Care symbols, fibre composition, country of origin, brand marks, barcodes, size runs — single colour or multiple colours. Printed taffeta is supplied on rolls, fan-folded, or cut and folded ready to go straight to the sewing line, whichever way your production floor wants to receive it.

Small first orders are fine. A new export order with a new buyer’s label specification is exactly the situation where you do not want a minimum quantity of fifty thousand.

Who buys taffeta from us

Garment exporters and buying houses, apparel manufacturers, label printers and converters who resell to the trade, laundries and dry cleaners, and hospitality linen services. The common thread is simple: they all need a label that is still legible after the item has been washed a hundred times.

Ask for a sample cut

Taffeta is judged by hand-feel and by how it comes out of a wash test, and neither of those travels well in a photograph or a specification sheet. Ask for a sample cut in your width, run it through your own process, wash it, and then decide.
