Primera solves a different problem from every other printer on this site: full-colour product labels without a print run. For a food, cosmetics or beverage brand doing short batches, it removes the minimum order quantity entirely — you print fifty labels of one flavour and fifty of another on the same afternoon. These are inkjet, not thermal, and the running cost is ink rather than ribbon.

The straightforward colour label printer of the range — prints onto pre-die-cut label stock at photo quality. The dye and pigment cartridge pairing matters: pigment is the UV and water resistant one, which is what a label on a bottle actually needs.

The LX600 with a plotter cutter built in, so it prints and die-cuts any shape from plain roll stock. That removes the die cost and the lead time on a custom label shape entirely — the reason to choose it over the LX600 is shape freedom, not print quality.
